Founded in 1975, Stichting Natuurkampeerterreinen is committed to preserving small-scale, quiet campsites in natural settings and, where possible, increasing the number of Natural Campsites.

Accreditation
We do not own the campsites listed, but rather accredit sites that comply with the Foundation's Guidelines for Natural Campsites. We visit the sites at least twice per year to check that they meet the guidelines, thereby guaranteeing the site's quality. Only accredited Natural Campsites are permitted to display the green-and-white Natuurkampeerterreinen signs, and only these sites are listed in The Green Guide (Het Groene Boekje).

Protected name
The name Natuurkampeerterrein (Natural Campsite) is a protected name. It may only be used if we have accredited a campsite because it meets the guidelines. The name differs from natuurcampings (nature campsites), which can be used without restriction as it is not subject to any specific quality requirements.
